Having just completed my AS level year in human biology, in hindsight i am not happy with the actual content and descriptiveness of this text book. My college used it as a bible, and all were encouraged to get one. It gives simple definitions, which are easy to learn, but dont give enough detail and explanation if you want to get top marks in your exam paper. I wwould reccommend this book to anyone, as an average aid, but its really over-rated!

There can be no better textbook around for the new AS course. The book offers a concise explanation of everything and covers the whole course in great detail. It is a must for anyone studying the course and is bound to help you revise for the exam. WELL DONE on such an excellent book!
