Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A thrilling adventure   December 28, 2007
My kids (6yr boy, 8yr girl) both really love the whole Charlie Small series. I also really enjoy reading it with them. Fun, fast-paced, a real adventure. Highly recommended.

I bought this to read to my 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter in bed. They loved it and I really enjoyed reading it. Some parts made my daughter hide her head under the covers! Every time I tried to close the book it was met with "just one more page pleeeeeeeeese". Theres not many little boys (or girls) who don't wish for some adventures just like Charlie Small. Buy it now, you will all love it.

5 out of 5 stars In the opinion of Rebecca, age 6   March 22, 2007

In this book, a boy called Charlie Small gets caught by some blood-thirsty lady pirates. He gets made a cabin boy, and then a pirate! However he soon tires of this and manages to escape by building a fantastic contraption. I would recommend this book to adventure seeking readers(6+).I thought the style (as a journal) was great, and the illustrations were fantastic.
