Exellent Introduction to the Goons March 2, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you know about the Goons then you probably like them. They were the inspiration for Monty Python. The Goonshow was on the radio nearly every week for ten years, so the question is: where to start? My answer is this album. Everyone has their own opinion as to the best episodes, but if you don't like Napoleon's Piano then there's no hope for you! It really is a gem, together with International Christmas Pudding. Here they are on one album. Start here.

Ah once again Jim's its 2 hours of continuous radio fighting! In both corners The Goons! Yes its that all leather goon show, and its back for more! Featuring the birth of the Dreaded Lurgi! Neeeeiugh! The International Christmas Pudding! The Flea and Napoleons Piano! Never has such madness been alowed out of a secure room! Use this wonderful CD to torture your sisters! Cause Pain to your Uncles and generally annoy people whilst you laugh your head off at this superb CD! Each Goon Show has been digitally remastered! What more could you want?! I've just become a big fan of the Goon Show, and being able to buy these episodes for such a low price was great. I enjoy being able to listen again and again to these episodes, and encourage the BBC to release more of the 250 or so episodes on tape and CD.
