Makes it easy October 3, 2006 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have lots of gardening books, some of them are even useful. But this is the best I've found for stirring up confidence and enthusiasm. I just need to browse its pages for a few minutes and I want to go and pull on by gardening shoes and gloves. As a reference its not perfect but as an introduction and ideas crucible its great. And the two halves blend beautifully, you barely see the join. There is very little repetition.
Great reference book July 18, 2006 21 out of 21 found this review helpful

Excellent Book March 29, 2006 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
Nice simple straightforward book that complements the series well - which is still being repeated on UK style gardening if you can catch it! Definitely a good book to get you started at gardening and sorting a weed from a flower!
All you need to know November 14, 2005 51 out of 53 found this review helpful
When I bought this book I was looking for an all-encompassing book that would tell me how to get my building site of a garden to resemble something...anything....! Alan Titchmarsh covers every single aspect of gardening in this book. The topics are laid out logically and the illustrations are excellent.I thoroughly recommend this book to beginners like myself.
