5 out of 5 stars Local Knowledge for Local people and Others too!   March 30, 2005

when taking a guide out into the field just isn't an option, this great book certainly is. Expert knowledge from some of the area's top birders is shared for the benefit of the rest of us.

It's completely up to date after a re-vamp, including the Red Kite relaese program in Gateshead. Highlighting all the usual hot-spots around the coasts of Teeside, Durham & Northumberland - as well as the Farn Isles, Holy island etc. the lesser-known but prolific inland areas are also covered - literally covering any spot worth knowing about between Scotland, Yorkshire and Cumbria, with good maps and contact numbers etc.

There isn't a guide available for this part of the world, but if there was, it would not be as good as this one.
