Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A wonderful book for children and adults   July 18, 2006

We have just returned from enjoying a Zoofari at the wonderful, and educational, Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, NSW, where they had this inspirational book in their library. BTG supports the Taronga Foundation, of which the WPZ is a part, and proceeds from the book go towards this, which is another reason to buy this beautifully photographed, and thought-provoking book.

5 out of 5 stars Wake Up Humanity   September 23, 2004

This book not only contains beautiful pictures of wildlife from around the world, it also tells a story. It's the story of the animals. The story of what is happening to them because of humanity. How humans are demolishing their homes and habitats and because the animals have nowhere to go, they are being demolished too. It's not all bad news though - it also tells how the animals have hope, have hope that we will care about them, how we might care enough to speak for them. This book starts that process. If you are an animal lover you'll fall in love with the pictures and the words in this book. At the back of the book there is also information on each of the animals photographed in the book. There's also a list of websites for you to peruse. If I remember it correctly there is a quote in the book which I feel cannot be truer - "Humans are the animals worst enemy. Humans are also their only hope." This book is indeed PRICELESS.
