Simply Wonderful! December 21, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I received this book at a transitionary period in my life. I was in a slump and stuck in a rut and didn't know what to do with myself. That all changed when I received thisbook. It is full of encouragement, and wonderful wacky ideas to help get you out of yourself and onto paper. It is also full of ideas for projects that will keep you occupied for hours on end, making you feel like a child again while stimulating your creativity in the long run. The author doesn't tell you 'how' to do things, and she states this at the begininng, saying that the mistake that most of these "creative how to books" make is trying to force their creative excersises on you and telling you that you need to do this and that in order to benefit from their teachings. Instead, she simply makes suggestions that aim to fuel your creativity. And it works. Her ideas make you want to get up and make a change in your life and a difference in your world. Whether it's because you are having an artist's block or simply want to start leading a more creative life then look no further than this book. It quite literally changed my life.
A lovely, lovely book January 3, 2007 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I was given this book, and am so pleased that I was. I am usually a browser, but sat and read it from cover to cover. Its has so many lovely ideas in it, and is beautifully produced with a handmade feel. It includes postcards, games, stickers and ideas for simple activities which aim to spark your creativity and take time for yourself. It is a truly healing book, definately one for women and something I would like to buy all my female friends. I can't think of a bad word to say about it. I feel blessed to own it.

I will never forget the day I got this book through the post. I wish I could go back and read it again for the first time. It will make you so happy or cheer you up I guarantee it! Make a hot chocolate/nice drink, sit on your own somewhere quiet and delve in with an open mind. You will become so inspired by the words, the quotes and the activities! At first you may not find the activities appealing being an adult, but give it a couple of hours/days and you will find yourself creeping back with a pair of scissors and some glue to happily cut out the cool stuff in it. It's your book so go for it! I have stuck the postcards from the back of the book on my wall. It may sound strange but this book has quite literally changed my life. It has made me start writing a journal, led me to read other similar inspiring books (recommended at the end) and now I do allsorts of creative things daily with a much happier outlook on my life. I have realised a lot about myself such as there is a lot more to life than work! You can still have fun being grown up. (Note this book is aimed at women). I cannot recommend this book enough! Buy it now!
