Public Health is an important part of today's medicine whether it is liked or not by medical students! Regardless, this is an excellent book, providing comprehensive information on legislation and trends in population medicine in the United Kingdom and beyond. It provides a commonsense approach to the subject and uses good diagrams to put across often abstract concepts. It is interspersed with historical content which relieves the reader from the technical aspects of the book with often fascinating insights into past health issues in Western Europe. The book is practical - based, but could perhaps do with a basic statistics chapter as a "ready reference" for the journal articles included.
In short, this is an invaluable resource for a subject that has been neglected in the past and should not be looked on in disdain in the present and future!
