Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars very odd   August 14, 2008
I found this book difficult to read and quite boring. It cam up on a recommended list as I have enjoyed other books around Africa, but this one is one of the only books I have ever given up reading before the end. Shame as it had a fair write up so maybe it was just how I found it...

It's the way she uses her words, describes her emotions and pours out her soul that lets us feel her passion and pain. Nothing is explained, but everything is understood.
I had to read it slowly and carefully in order to make sure I didn't miss anything.
Fabulous

A modern African classic? I think so. This book deserves a review, and, a good one. Whatever 'type' of book you usually read, you won't fail to appreciate this one.
