What a wonderful read November 11, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I would have given 6 stars if I could. What a wonderful, wonderful read. Kobie Kruger's love of all animals is as strong as her love for her own family. Highly recommended.
The Wilderness Family June 17, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic read for all wildlife lovers and a great insight to the heart of South Africa. The story tells of many encounters with African wildlife and expresses how a family can live in harmony without the need for material possesions. Kobie is a truly gifted author, writing from her heart and one can easily tell of her love for all things natural.
An enchanting read March 5, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
A tenderly and eloquently written book that even without the glorious subject would be worthy of 5 stars. Kobie Kruger's mesmorising account of her life exudes love and understanding for all that surrounds her. Her respect and deep consideration for the wildnerness is profound and wonderfully refreshing - a thoroughly absorbing read which I cannot recommend highly enough.
Heartwarming October 29, 2002 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a wonderfully, heartwarming story about life in the African bush. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Their ability to cope with hardships of their life is nothing short of courageous, but it is when they are talking about their animal companions that this book really comes to life. They have a strong and abiding love of animals, which is a lesson to us all.
A book to read again and again! March 17, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was transported into the wilderness world of the Kruger family and didn't want the book to end! It is written with warmth and humour and filled with hair-raising encounters, hilarious incidents and endearing characters - especially of the wild, four-legged kind! I recommend this beautiful book to anyone who can read and especially to animal lovers!
