A FOX LOVER'S BIBLE February 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The cover says it all This is a well written book, full of gorgeous color photos, that tells the story of the beautiful fox interacting with human beings This book proves that they are NOT what many people think. I was amazed to see those creatures bond with humans in such a loving way. Never though that they could trust humans in that way, given the fact that they have been abused by them for centuries Thank you Mr Asby for giving this mighty animal a voice!!
informative, clear, stunning photos, a must for fox-lovers February 20, 2002 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
Eric Ashby, a pioneer wildlife photographer (the first person to film badgers inside their sett at the bottom of his garden)has been an admirer of the fox since childhood. This visually stunning and easy-to-read book details his fascination with the species and his day-to-day life with the foxes in his sanctuary in the New Forest. Anyone wanting to know about foxes, particularly with respect to their interaction with humans, should read this gorgeous book. Those people who think wild animals shouldn't be kept in captivity should also read and learn from Eric and Eileen Ashby's experience. They have developed a remarkable affinity with foxes and have, in my opinion (I also rescue and care for long term resident foxes),set the standard for the environment for long term care, with their acceptance of free movement between the wild and their sanctuary for some of their foxes. I could rave on and on about this book and the amazing photographs in it - they are not only beautiful but they really show the humour, the agility, and the loveliness of our vulpine friends. If you care about foxes, you really owe it to yourself and them to buy this book; by the end of it you will know far more about this incredible animal and will have laughed at the things foxes get up to along the way.
