Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Essential Conservation Biology Text   March 18, 2005
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

This is an excellent text for students of Conservation Biology, and proved an invaluable resource, particularly in the final year of my degree. Conservation theory is explained in straightforward language and I found the level of difficulty and depth of information just right for a degree in Biology or related subjects.

The real strength of this book is the use of examples and case-studies, which are presented in a clear and concise way. This is really useful for those looking to demonstrate evidence of extra reading in exams and coursework. The text references many famous and important conservation studies from the last 30 years and outlines them in a logical, easy to follow way. The layout isn't particularly exciting, but it is exceptionally clear and accessible, making it great for quick reference. The diagrams are black and white but full of information and easy to replicate in an exam.
