Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In this seventh edition of Moon Oregon, Elizabeth and Mark Morris return with the energy and excitment they brought to previous editions. Making sure you will have the best time possible in Oregon this guide covers all corners of the "Beaver State," all the way from big buildings of downtown Portland to Umpqua Hot Springs.

Self-proclaimed lovers of the Pacific Northwest Elizabeth and Mark have a history of guide writing, but what they relish most is helping you find new ways to enjoy Oregon for the first, second or fifteenth time. They even include updated strategies:

• Best of Oregon
• Wine Lover's Tour
• Oregon Outdoors
• Long Weekend in Oregon

Moon Oregon is sure to answer any of your questions while visiting the lush locales of Southeast Oregon's Lost Forest, The Cascades Sparks Lake or dining on orange almond chicken at Williamette Valley's Sassy Onion Grill. In a state filled with fishing, foilage, and Fat Tire Festivals you're sure to see it all with Moon Oregon.

5 out of 5 stars Moon Oregon Handbook   November 18, 2007
Moon Oregon (Moon Handbooks) This book was the best thing I could have purchased prior to spending 3 weeks on the road touring Oregon this past September. I like how the book doesn't just highlight the most popular places to stay or eat. We tried a couple of small cafes for breakfast that were recommended and were completely satisfied with the reviews given for both. Highly recommend this handbook for anyone wishing to travel in Oregon.

3 out of 5 stars Moon guidebooks vary quite a bit!   September 20, 2007

I usually buy Lonely Planet or Moon guidebooks for US travel. Often I carry both. Lonely Planet books tend to be very straightforward and consistent, often the product of a "committee" of authors. Moon's books seem more conversational in tone and are the product of one or two authors and therefore can vary more in style. I usually prefer Moon books to Lonely Planet due to their more descriptive nature. This is not one of them. This book lacks the imagination in style that most Moon books have. Planning a trip to Oregon? Go Lonely Planet.

5 out of 5 stars Great Guide To Oregon   March 2, 2007

MOON OREGON is one of the most comprehensive guides to Oregon ever published. Whether you're looking for the urban pleasures of the Portland area and/or the Eugene/Corvallis/Salem corridor, the healthy activity ideas of Eastern Oregon or the Oregon Coast, or a little of everything, this book has it for you. Even if you're not travelling to Oregon any time soon, you'll find MOON OREGON to be an interesting and exciting read.

5 out of 5 stars For the nature lover in you   November 27, 2006

This is a good book for those that plan to spend most of their trip on the trail, or in the national, state, and local parks. It is also great for those that like to stay in a nice hotel and look out their windows at nature and wonder what's out there. In this way, the book should be an addition to your information that you gather before going to Oregon. Frommers is a good companion book. Between the two should give you enough information to make good decisions on where to stay, where to eat, and what to see. It is an accurate guide with resources for more information. We went to Oregon and stayed in just about every lodging type there is - hotel, motel, lodge, b&b, vacation home, and cabin. Moon was a handy companion the whole time.
