3 out of 5 stars Shoddy Way to Get My Money   November 29, 2006

I will have to say that I am not pleased with this purchase through Amazon and therefore am biased to the rating of this item. I have read all of Dan Brown's books, that is, Dan Brown author of The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and Digital Fortress. This book called Matter is not the same author but a poet. Broaden my horizon, one might say. I prefer fiction to poetry. Nothing personal. I've been like that all my life. I was looking forward to a "new" book I have never heard of from Dan Brown. Of course, I didn't check every ally and dark corner of the site and therefore missed the comments left by other customers who were duped into buying this book by a man with the same name, coincidentally, as the man who wrote fiction. After all, rarely do I ever check what other people have to say about items because the advertising has been crystal clear until this point. And what's more these two authors with the same name and different genres were matched up for a deal to buy both books at a cheaper cost. Well, I've already read Digital Fortress and thinking I was getting another book by Dan Brown I feel I was tricked into buying this book. I'm not too happy about it. I know I will not get my full refund back, and while I spent almost $11 to get this book I could have gotten three books for that same price on my wish list...and I would have enjoyed the fiction. Again, I am not pleased with the Shotty way Amazon misguided myself and others into thinking this was Dan Brown the fictitious author.

5 out of 5 stars Great poetry. This book was published a long time before the DaVinci Dan Brown published his successful books   June 16, 2006

I truly enjoyed Dan Brown's poetry and can highly recommend the book. Obviously, this Dan Brown is not the DaVinci Code Dan Brown but he is not a scam artist either. Just read the publishing dates for the various Dan Brown titles and you will find that this collection of poems was published in 1996. The fact that Dan Brown calls himself Dan Brown should mainly be blamed on his parents if there is anyone to blame. To bad Dan the poet man has not produced anything else as of yet. Hopefully all of this attention will make him re-evaluate his true talents.

I WAS GREATLY DISHEARTENED, NOT REALIZING THE NATURE OF THIS BOOK PRIOR TO PURCHASE.I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT IF I WAS ABLE TO PREVIEW IT FIRST.
I HAVE ENJOYED HIS HISTORICAL FICTIONS VERY MUCH!!(THE OTHER DAN BROWN)
I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS FIRST BUT TRUSTED AMAZON WHEN THEY HAD IT COMBINED WITH DIGITAL FORTRESS!!!

5 out of 5 stars Good Poetry! So What if There's Some Name Confusion!   April 3, 2006

MATTER by Dan Brown is a fine group of poems definitely worth checking out. For obvious reasons, there not much in the way of conspiracies, etc. Author Confusion? As old as the hills. Check the 2 John MacDonalds, one became Ross. Or better, two Winston Churchills, near contempararies, one a best selling Civil War Historical Romance author, the other even more famous one, added his middle initial "S" to avoid confusion. Read about their meeting in WSC's Classic "My Early Life"!

5 out of 5 stars Will the real Dan Brown please step up...   March 31, 2006

Wait, there's two of you? How odd, not. Get over it people. I got this book as a gift and loved it. No it's not the norm for me to read peotry and you know what, that's changed. This is a good book. Broaden your minds. Oh and so what if this guy who writes poetry has the same name as the guy who writes fiction. Neither is better than the other. Choose another forum to measure manhoods and get off your soap box. Both Authors are amazing in their genres.
