Product Description With the same incomparable style and warm, inviting voice that have made her beloved by millions of readers far and wide, New York Times bestselling author Fannie Flagg has written an enchanting Christmas story of faith and hope for all ages that is sure to become a classic. Deep in the southernmost part of Alabama, along the banks of a lazy winding river, lies the sleepy little community known as Lost River, a place that time itself seems to have forgotten. After a startling diagnosis from his doctor, Oswald T. Campbell leaves behind the cold and damp of the oncoming Chicago winter to spend what he believes will be his last Christmas in the warm and welcoming town of Lost River. There he meets the postman who delivers mail by boat, the store owner who nurses a broken heart, the ladies of the Mystic Order of the Royal Polka Dots Secret Society, who do clandestine good works. And he meets a little redbird named Jack, who is at the center of this tale of a magical Christmas when something so amazing happened that those who witnessed it have never forgotten it. Once you experience the wonder, you too will never forget A Redbird Christmas.

Disappointing December 1, 2008 I just finished A Redbird Christmas. Our book club chose it for the December meeting. I was very disappointed in the book. The characters never seemed to "flesh out". I also could never figure out the time period of the book. The language was of the 1940's or 1950's, but then something would appear, like tatoos or $100,000 for surgery - very confusing. The best part of the book was finding recipes at the end.
Great Christmas Gift! November 24, 2008 A wonderful book that will bring a smile to your face! I read this book two years ago and still smile when I think about it. Fannie Flagg is a wonderful author and I recommend all her books. My mother, grandmother and I all loved this novel.
Book Review November 16, 2008 Having just visited the small town in South Alabama which was the setting for this book, it was a "warm and fuzzy" read! Very Southern and very sweet.
redbird family christmas October 29, 2008 This is another great work of Fannie Flagg ! I would rank this as one of her best books ,it has that southern flavor with good character development and touches the heart as all her books do!I remember watching Fannie on channel 6 in Birmingham Al. and tried to keep up with her thru the years.....although shes a character herself and i enjoyed watching her over the years ---writing is her ''stuff'' !read this book -you'll feel better! john d.
Fannie Flagg Fan August 2, 2008 I recently found Fannie Flagg and I have been amazed by her books. This one takes you from laughing to crying and you just want the book to go on and on. I recommend this book for anyone that wants something out of the ordinary to read because you will love this one. I plan to read all of her books. BJF
