Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This combination of biography, history, and science recounts the life of Thomas Alva Edison, from his mid-19th century boyhood, to the establishment of his "invention factory" in Menlo Park, N.J., to his invention of the first electric lightbulb. The innovative question-and-answer format, mix of photographs and illustrations, and interactive experiments will both captivate and inform young readers.

Learn not only about the life of Edison, but about the nature of electricity. An at-home experiment allows young readers to have their own "Edison moment."

A time line and index provide supplementary materials.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Biography of Thomas Alva Edison   August 22, 2008
This series is great for the classroom. Thomas Edison's life is focused on mainly for the invention of the light bulb, but for some other inventions as well. The book is written at about a 5th grade reading level for non fiction reading. As I am an ESOL teacher for middle school and many kids have to do reports in Technology on inventions. These books will be a big help for me.
