Court Procedural with Quirky Humor for Good Measure August 17, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
What fun! Jonathan Miller writes a sort of court procedural tale, quite in keeping with his lawyer-self. Add romance, a pinch of creepy suspense, interesting characters, and a marvelous New Mexico backdrop and it makes for good entertainment.
Don't forget to look for the humor in his books, too. Miller is a very funny guy. "Volcano Verdict" comes out fall 2006.

Impressive thriller March 15, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a very interesting, clever, impressive thriller, a murder mystery that takes place in New Mexico. The heroine, Luna Cruz, is a lady attorney, which makes it all the more delicious. Miller is a very amusing writer with a somewhat cynical take, with a taste of hardboiled Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler thrown in. It is not your usual mystery fare but unusually gripping. Miller is a star that grows brighter with this, his second novel. I'm now addicted to his stuff.
Fast Paced Plot April 7, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I stayed up all night to finish this book. I couldn't put it down! Author Jonathan Miller knows how to tell a great story and peppers it with unusual characters and places it in a very surreal small Southwestern town. Different for sure, but very, very readable.
