Dear Amazon:
I really love the books I received from you. I've been looking for books like this for a very long time. I guess where my trouble was is when I ordered one book I also got a differet book that was suggested to go with it. I didn't realize I had ordered the extra books untill it was too late. That was why I had to send back five of them. I will admit it was the first time I had ordered from you. Thanks.
Kirk

4 out of 5 stars Beatuful, fully illustrated book   January 4, 2008

Over sized paperback book with hundreds of color pictures and a dozen legitimate templates. - Unicorn, Fairie, Wizard, Gryphon, Dragon, Mermaid and more. Complete guidelines for painting them too.

This book won't turn you into a professional wood carver but if you want a book that will help you learn while giving you some really attractive fantasy carvings to work from then this is it.

If you want to make these figures you have to keep in mind that you need some decent carving tools and a scrollsaw.

5 out of 5 stars Carving Fantasy & Legend Figures in Wood   June 9, 2007

This is a very good book. The pictures are plain (clear) which makes for easier cut outs and carving. There is plenty of detail but not so much it takes away from the carving. There is good variety for carvers. The carving step by step section is very well written making it easy to follow directions. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in fantasy carving.

2 out of 5 stars Two Dimensional   April 11, 2006

I was disapointed with the book when it arrived. Looked much better on line. I found the carvings and patterns very rough and two dimensional.
