Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This is one of the few out there for the humble uro   July 1, 2008

This book has a lot of historical background on the discovery and description of the several uro species. I have gone back to this book many times for husbandry and basic care. There is not a lot of literature out there detailing the care of uromastyx. It is a shame, but I am glad that I was able to find this book early on. My uro is now going on four years old and he's still going strong. If you are beginning, this book is a good investment.

2 out of 5 stars Too technical, overpriced   April 17, 2008

This book is definately not worth the price. Maybe if you're a herpetologist you'll be able to fully appreciate the scope of this book. When it says it has descriptions of uromastyx I'd expect some pictures and diagrams not detailed accounts of how many scales are on what part of the lizard. The temperatures are written in celsius and the measurements in centimeters. It's really too technical. If you have a captive bred uromastyx maliensis you won't find it mentioned in this book. If you want a book strickly about all the do's and don'ts of keeping uros this is not it.

Great book. Period. Excellent source for information for anyone keeping these little guys as pets. We found so much more in this book that we did not find online, and we read alot of different websites about Uromastyx. Well worth the money for the quality of the information provided. Lots of full color pictures too.
