From the supplier: Labor Sec. Robert Reich is correct to assume the need to have a strong highly-skilled workforce to produce the required number of high quality, low cost goods. Reich's idea of globalization, however, failed to consider the 'home bases' concept, wherein specific industrial policies should remain in place to aid particular places and industries. He also failed to note the role corporations play in determining how skills can be improved or how technology should be used. In addition, Reich erred in assuming that high wages will be the natural result upon the acquisition of better high skills.
