From the supplier: The nation might be a happier, more relaxing, less stressful place for Americans to work and live in if incomes there were more equal and people felt freer to work less. The US compared to other nations is a nation of workaholics and the differences appear not to be simply cultural. It appears that high income inequality and high work hours go together. The bottom rungs of the US income inequality ladder is highly undesirable and the middle rungs fraught with insecurity so workers work longer hour to avoid the bottom.
