4 out of 5 stars Educational & Good Viewing   July 8, 2008
If you are a fan of Dr. Goodall and her work with our closest living relatives, this DVD is for you. Her work is nothing short of amazing and life altering. This program covers her life from very early on, through her seemingly crazy pace of speaking engagements and seminars today. After watching this, it's obvious that Jane Goodall isn't someone who set out to change the world; but clearly has.

It is worthy to note that this program doesn't focus on primates; the focus is on Dr. Goodall and her life. It's almost like an episode of "Biography". If you are looking for programs that feature chimpanzees, you will want to look at something along the lines of Great Apes.

5 out of 5 stars Great, on so many levels   June 8, 2007

This video is a scientific and spiritual look at why we can be optomistic about our future. It is based on the book of the same title, which was more of a call to action. The visual aspects make Goodall's words come to life. It is not so easy to discount her conclusions when you see for yourself the reactions of chimpanzees to the wonder of a waterfall or the devestating destruction of their habitat. I use this video to inspire and motivate my university students who are interested in environmental causes, as it demonstrates what one motivated person can do to raise the consciousness of people and what aware people can do when they organize and act.
