Product Description
The wonderfulness of all things yucky is popular these days, but some kids will prefer to hear about a sensitive spider who would rather dine on watermelon rinds than spin a web where live things stick. In Spider Dan, Foote puts a fun, lively spin on life and eating habits in the insect world while offering a valuable lesson about self-esteem and equality.
Customer Reviews:
Great book about compassion and being yourself.March 5, 2007 Spider Dan finds his way in the world by acting compassionately rather than doing what is expected of him. Great book for teaching those lessons!

One more awesome and clever piece of artwork by Norman Foote
My 5-year-old loves this book!February 3, 1999 I don't know how old the reviewer from the Horn Book is, but I doubt that this book was written for him/her. My son loves this book - and the messages contained within. Hearing the song after he'd read the book only made it better for him. A good book for sensitive, nature-loving kids - like mine.
