A wonderful "read-aloud" story November 5, 2008
I have almost all of the books written and illustrated by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler. This one is one of my favorites. It's a cute, clever story that keeps my interest after reading it over and over. The illustrations are colorful and bright and nice to look at. I bought it when my son was about 10 months old and now he is 18 months and still wants me to read it to him all of the time. He gets bored with books easily but he loves this book.

All of Julia Donaldson's books are a joy to read to children. The illustrations are great too (especially when she collaborates with Axel Scheffler). Perfect for 3 to 6 year olds.

This author and illustrator team is a family favorite. My kids 6 and 8 year old never get bored of this book and we read a lot. They also love the Gruffulo series. This is a wonderful book to add to your family library.
a great book July 20, 2008
My 3 year old son has many of Julia Donaldson's books and this is one of his favorites. The illustrations are beautifully done and really enhance the story. This book makes refernces to other books within the story and keeps it interesting. I think my son will enjoy this story for years to come.

I'm a huge fan of this author/illustrator team, and this book is another great one. The concept is very clever and engaging. I enjoy reading it almost as much as my daughter loves hearing it.
