Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In this amusing picture book, a colorful snake challenges children to find him as he slithers through pages of familiar objects. “Baker’s elaborate acrylic designs, variety of lush hues, and sly wit provide a feast for the eyes while maintaining the cohesive personality of the book from page to page.”--Publishers Weekly

5 out of 5 stars even better than it looks at first sight!   May 23, 2008
This book would be good even if it were only the challenge of finding the cleverly-hidden snake in each picture. But on a third read, I noticed that there are some visual gags and subtleties to be found that will keep older readers (like my teenage daughter and myself!) searching the pictures as much as the toddler or small child they're reading to. Keep your eyes open, and read the book again!

5 out of 5 stars FUN BOOK TO READ AND SEARCH WITH THE LITTLE ONES.   September 20, 2007
A very colorful snake that has the abilility to hide is some pretty strange and unique places makes this an ideal book to read with your child and join in the game of find the snake. The author and artist Keith Baker does have quite an imagination and does have skill. The colorful snake is hidden in different settings, and the object of the book is to find the snake. the drawings/paintings are extremely detailed. Children do enjoy this one which is a pretty good endorsement for any children's book. The cute and percise rhymes which the text consists of, help the child to develope a feel for word patterns. The book is easy to read and is not at all boring, even after dozens and dozens of readings. The reason for this is the unique places the snake is hidden. With a bit of imagination, an adult can get quite a conversation going using just the background art in this one. this is certainly one you will want to add you your young child's library. Simply a delightful book.

5 out of 5 stars Lots of Fun for our Toddler   May 23, 2004

Our boy Alex loves this book, even at a year and a half old. He frequently picks it out of a stack of books and brings it to us to read to him. We spend a lot of time on each page so that he can find the snake's head. The pictures are beautifully colored and filled with lots of curious details. It is one of the few books that keep him so interested that he often wants us to go through it several times each sitting. I highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent book with beautiful art work   January 9, 2002

Easy enough for the youngest children, this book also provides a nice challenge for older toddlers and preschoolers to find where the snake is hiding. The rhymes make it easy to read and are good practice for little ears. The artwork is interesting and quite detailed. My son, now 3, has had his copy since he was a baby and still loves it.
