2 out of 5 stars Out dated....   April 1, 2008

This book is a real TFH production, very glossy paper and very very glossy photos.

It tries to explain everything known about geckos in a short almost childish manner and falls (as expected) short in this.

Most of the information on care and breeding is outdated and was current in the beginning of the 90's.

There are way better books on the market today and they are also much more specialised on special gecko families if wanted.

My advice ? Spent your money on those.

3 out of 5 stars Briefly overviews the care spectrum of geckos.   March 4, 1999

This book tries to give an overview of the care and breeding of geckos, falling short of an inclusive "how to" book. It's coverage of classification and biology are good. These areas are often overlooked by many hobbiest. Faithful to its commercial publisher, it promotes various retail products available at pet stores. Many beautiful "foto glaze" pictures of geckos. Some of these pictures are of geckos rarely seen in any general gecko books.
