Condition: 8vo. 48 pp. Stitched binding with black lettering on front cover and text on back cover. Appears to lack original printed blue/green wraps. Page corners are chipped and bent. Lacks wraps. Moisture stain to about half of pages, does not affect content. Illustrated with small black-and-white drawings of the various astronomical signs, including the crab, the lion, and fish. Also contains a full-page map of New England that features Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont in 1843. This is an almanac for Boston and surrounding areas for the year 1844. In addition to these standard almanac facts, the book contains several interesting short articles on meetings for the Friends in New England, details about the 1843 salaries of government officials such as John Tyler and John C. Spencer, and rates of trade on Spanish dollars, French Napoleons, British sovereigns, and more. 1843 First Edition.
