Great Magazine . . . EXCEPT . . . . October 2, 2008
When my daughters were little, we loved this magazine.
Then I noticed something that I did not like.
Most of the stories were about little boys, doing cool activities.
The girls were always passive. They were either the King's
daughter, or helping mommy. Yawn.
Ironically, most of the stories were written by women. They
had all kinds of excuses when I wrote them. Always in denial.
If you have a daughter, I still recommend the magazine.
But PLEASE get on their case about this!

Just to let the first time Cricket orderer know, they quote 3 to 4 months to deliver. It took **5** months for my niece to receive her birthday gift. I was not pleased. Hopefully it's worth the wait.

We're psyched to read Cricket - it sounds great for our 7 year old bookish son - but it's been more than a month and we've yet to see an issue of Cricket in the mail. Why does the subscription process take so long?

I urge parents to read through this magazine before letting your young readers read it. I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. Our first issue was Feb. I was not happy to read a story that mentioned girls teasing about a girl being "a wanna be boy" & having a sex change. This should not be in a magazine geared towards this age range. I cancelled our subscription.

I am giving this no stars. I have never recieved even one issue. I ordered this in November and I expected to see a copy in January but now its Feb and nothing has come. Ranger Rick did and it was ordered at the same time.
