What's the first thing you think of when you hear the phrase "fast food?" Is it a double-decker cheeseburger, super-duper sized French fries and a 64 ounce bucket of sugary soda pop? Unfortunately, in the vernacular of our society these days, that's exactly what we immediately think of regarding quick and easy food. What a shame!
But Dr. Arthur Agatston, the ingenuitive creator of the world-famous South Beach Diet, thinks people's perceptions about what fast food is and how much better is could be needs to change dramatically. That's why he wrote The South Beach Diet Quick & Easy Cookbook.
We all live busy, hectic lives and desire to eat healthier, but we don't think we have time for that. We get up in the morning when our alarm clock goes off and we don't stop until our heads hit the pillow at night. Our go-go-go society has literally forced us into making bad decisions regarding our health and well-being and rising obesity rates and the onset of disease has been the result.
In The South Beach Diet Quick & Easy Cookbook, Dr. Agatston shows us that we CAN eat healthy AND fast! By implementing healthy carbs and fats into our meal plans, nothing will stand in our way of improved overall health and weight maintenance.
After giving a brief dissertation on how our society became a fast food nation, Dr. Agatston states in his book that implementing his South Beach diet principles into the real world is not as hard as some may think. There really is no excuse for NOT being able to stick with your low-carb plan regardless of how busy your schedule is.

Although I did not personally use the South Beach version of low-carb to lose nearly 200 pounds, I can certainly appreciate the invaluable contribution that Dr. Agatston has made on today's culture with his weight loss concepts focusing on the food fats and carbs. The low-carb lifestyle has gotten such a bad rap because it has been so grossly mischaracterized by the media and the self-proclaimed health "experts" that its original message has now been convoluted.
But most people who follow a low-carb lifestyle are eating the good fats, healthy amounts of protein, the good carbohydrates while avoiding the unnecessary sugars, white flour, and starchy foods that lead to weight loss disaster. Dr. Agatston understands that and is trying to help others take an interest in their own health before it is too late.
Getting people interested in weight loss is step number one to eradictating this obesity epidemic once and for all. Providing books like The South Beach Diet Quick & Easy Cookbook will help people lose the weight and then maintain their weight loss forever as the sands of time keep ticking away.

Of the three cookbooks, this one is the best because it offers recipes that real people can handle given real life time constraints. So far, the five recipes we've tried have all been very good. And I'm already down over 12 pounds in 2 weeks. That's a real motivator to stay on the diet.

The greatest thing I love about this particular cookbook is how fantastic the recipies taste, and how healthy they are.
If you like to cook delicious, unique meals, and especially if you want to lose weight, this cookbook really works! Everything I've tried so far has come out perfect, and tasted great!

I love this cookbook! After purchasing the first cookbook and preparing consistently delicious meals from it, I had to have this one! Like most of us, I am extremely busy with three boys under 5 and a husband who works all the time. These dishes are quick and delicious and healthy - the Shrimp Scampi is DIVINE and took me 10 minutes to prepare with prepeeled shrimp - I had to put the pasta on before the Scampi it was so quick.
Great purchase.
