1 out of 5 stars Disorganized, confused political drivel   August 1, 2008

Here is another book which should not have seen the light of day. Dick Morris, who has flipped and flopped between both sides of the political spectrum, seems to have finally thrown his lot with the likes of Newt Gingrich, Ollie North, Gordon Libby, and Rush Limbaugh who think what they say is the absolute truth simply because they said it. Facts don't matter.

Until he wrote this book, I somewhat liked Dick Morris. Now, I am not sure if I can read his writing again! While he has had influential jobs and held the attention of presidents in the past, he no longer seems to be politically astute - sorry to say.

4 out of 5 stars Somewhat blunt and caustic, but a good read anyhow   July 9, 2008

Just like his interviews on the TV talk shows, Dick Morris comes across as blunt and caustic in this book. Although the book is eye opening and to some level interesting, especially the chapter on what an Obama presidency will result in, it gets a little tiring at times. I found myself putting it down because of the tired same old sarcasm about individuals and groups who are fleecing the American people. And, he doesn't pick on just Democrats, he gives the Republicans a piece his mind also with the inefficient business operations in Iraq, i.e. Halliburton. Other chapters are focused on the Democrats undoing of the Patriot Act if Obama is elected, the subprime lending fiasco and others. If you like Dick Morris, this book is for you (of course). If you are just wondering, I would recommend Newt Gingrich's Real Change instead. The information provided is more readable and provides more facts and data to back up his case.

Good job, Dick...it's gratifying to see a work like this come along, especially now. You've given ALL of us something to think about by presenting hard facts instead of more political platitudes designed by big money to placate the proletariat.

I downloaded this book into my Kindle this morning and I could not stop reading it. The authors do an excellent job at describing the nature and consequences of the current fleecing of Joe and Jane US Taxpayer, and how said fleecing can and will grow far worse under an Obama administration. I know three people in Ohio, and I'm urging them to read this book before November. I'm hoping that this book and others like it will spark spirited DEBATE among America's voters, who must learn about and talk-out the issues if we expect to continue to be self-governed. This "bringing us all together" garbage we keep hearing about is nothing more than "Ein volk, ein reich, ein fuhrer!" dressed up for modern Americans. Don't fall for it - Americans discuss, debate, and ARGUE the issues of our times - "unity" (in the political sense) is for servile dolts.
