great book for bird watching - July 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I find this book to be the most concise and user friendly book for identifying birds here on the East Coast. The detailed pictures make it easy to identify each bird by name. We were visited here in Maine by a small blue bird, the likes of which I have never seen in my years of birdwatching in New England, but easily recognized as an indigo bunting by using this book. A handy reference for any birdwatcher.
Nice item-nice pictures June 27, 2007 This would be five stars if they had more of the local birds in it-otherwise it is very nice.Nice pictures.

The acknowledged "standard of the industry" was as expected. It is complete, beautifully done, and in an easy to use format. It has certainly added to our enjoyment of watching the activities at our bird feeders.
Birds in the back yard March 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have found every bird I was looking for that has been in my yard this winter. I'm looking forward to new birds showing up once the weather warms up.
Peterson Field Guide to East/Central North America March 8, 2007 I highly recommend this field guide to anyone who is an avid bird watcher. I'ved used it extensively for identifying the birds in my backyard as well as in the Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas.
