The best of the best! July 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an unsurpassed work in its field, which contains the details and minutia researchers are after. Some of the best biologists in the country are represented here; people who, in some cases, have made it their life's work to study these animals. You get an excellent, well documented distillation of their work.
Very thorough October 27, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This text provides an in depth review of the biology of virtually every North American mammal. It is an excellent resource for those conducting research on a variety of taxa. This text is probably a bit too in depth to be very useful as a required text for mammalogy courses, but it is still a great resource for educators as it provides detailed information on nearly every life history aspect of the included species.
Excellent Mammal Reference November 10, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For up-to-date information on the mammals of North America - refer to this book. Current research on the study of mammals has brought wildlife science to life. The volume is an updated version of Chapman and Feldhamer's earlier edition. Anyone studying animals should obtain a copy.
