4 out of 5 stars Maybe typical superhero book but good!   July 19, 2008
I don't buy stuff I read that often. This is exception. I loved book best when Bill W. did art and script, but other books were good , too!

2 out of 5 stars What went wrong   April 21, 2008
It is difficult to believe that this trade was written by the same guy who wrote Day of Vengeance. DofV had its flaws, but not to this extent. The plotting is uninspired. The dialogue is so painfully filled with exposition that you wish you had a pencil in order to cross out unnecessary and repetitive lines. All of the characters have the same bland personalities; their conversations could be interchangeable and no one would know the difference. Finishing the book was more of a chore than a reading pleasure. The only redeeming quality was the solid artwork, even though the style may not be gritty enough to suit this genre. Magic books starring D-listers are a long shot to begin with, but at least give the title a chance. It was recently announced that the monthly from which this trade was comprised has been cancelled, which normally would be disappointing news, but unfortunately in this case is an understandable decision. Shadowpact, you deserved better.

4 out of 5 stars Shadowpact is Great   March 23, 2008
Shadowpact has been great through this volume. This volume really let's you get a feel for Blue devil and his character and struggles. And with the featuring of Etrigan I got to say this volume improves on the first one and I can't wait for volume three.
