5 out of 5 stars Ten Commandments   March 17, 1999
I saw this movie for the first time when it was new and I was only 5 years old. I was impressed then and have been every other time I have seen this classic.

5 out of 5 stars The most SPECTACULAR! movie I have ever seen!   March 12, 1999

I can truthfully state that of all the movies I have ever seen, this one is THE GREATEST! It has never lost it's excitement and appeal to me. I bought it when it first hit the shelves on VHS, then later the 3-disk Laser set, and I have eagerly been awaiting its release on DVD. I can't wait!

5 out of 5 stars Irresistible   March 2, 1999

Silly, overlong, over-reverent, campy, hilarious, occasionally moving, and still rather impressive. This is one of those movies that exerts a mad sort of control over me, such that if it is ever on TV, I watch it uncontrollably. There are rewards to be had: the art direction, the pomp and circumstance, and the performances of Yul Brynner and the rest of the supporting cast. Alas, Charlton Heston seems to be taking the entire enterprise VERY SERIOUSLY INDEED, and his performance brings the film to a grinding halt more than once. His considerable physical presence and undeniable authority carry him through, though, and there can be no doubt that it is Heston, rather than an army of special effects technicians, who really parts the Red Sea.

5 out of 5 stars Definitive movie of the life of Moses.   February 12, 1999
Despite critic's sneers, "The Ten Commandments" remains a true cinematic classic of universal appeal. DeMille demonstrates that only he could handle crowd scenes with such splendor and skill. The film, which was his last, is his legacy as one of the cinema's great storytellers.

5 out of 5 stars So It Shall Be Said, So It Shall Be Done!!   December 24, 1998

The best epic on film. Heston is magnificant and Brynner steals the movie. A must see!!
