Truly Amazing January 10, 2007 While the story behind this little number is a fun one, the thing that will amaze you is how the author has managed to use rhyme throughout the entire 14 pages of this story, without letting the storyline falter one iota.
The year is 1902, and in a quiet little town where trouble is seldom seen, a cold blooded killer -- Joseph LaPinto -- has taken the town's children hostage and is holding them for ransom. The school teacher's life doesn't have a happy ending, because LaPinto wants to let everyone know that he means business. What are the townspeople to do when they can't scrape together enough cash to meet the ransom? Sheriff Nate Sprowles, aged eighty-eight, faints when he gets word of the hostage situation. What will become of things? Exactly who is the stranger in town?
