 IT WAS PRETTY SCARY......... May 13, 1999
...........How realistic this movie is. It doesn't go into a farfetched future where you say "wow that would be cool, or that sucks". Sort of like Fifth Element or Judge Dredd, Those movies not only sucked but you really did not care what happened to the characters because it was a sci-fi movie. Gattaca is NOT like that. It takes place in a future not to distant where everything that happens is very damn possible within the next 50-100 years. So you sit there in disbelief at how *f'd* up that future is. I think this movie deserves to be seen by everyone with any type of intelligence to understand where our society is going.
The Best Movie I've seen May 3, 1999
Can you believe the guy who wrote this story also wrote "The Truman Show"?Gattaca is an absolute masterpiece in story, photography, and especially music. Despite this, I had never heard of it until a freind recommended it. The Truman show is just a big pile of horse dung. Hyped to the extreme, this movie was absolutely unoriginal and boring. They were mentioning Truman Show around Oscar time, and I felt physically ill. Buy Gattaca and see it and think about it and understand how science fiction should always be written. Buy Truman show and watch as it collects dust.
 Great movie... but it took so long to come out April 29, 1999
I think that Gattica had a great plot and was very realistic. Unlike some science fiction films which are very unrealistic. I don't like movies where you can spot the benting of the laws of phisics (no I am NOT a nerd its just annoying) also it wasn't about space wars it was a underprivleged person who does what he can to accomplish his dream. The only falt I had with the movie is that it took 2 years to make it for sale.

This is an AWESOME movie. The plot was one of the most original I've ever seen, and intruiging to think about. The filming was great eye candy -- the perspective and setting was different, stunning, and great to watch. A wonderful thing to see, a fascinating thing to think about.....LOVED IT!!!
Awesome sci-fi without the usual shoot-em-up April 22, 1999
Hawke and Law are good together. The genetics theme is good to get you thinking, even good for kids. This is good science-fiction without all the usual shoot-em-up stuff that normally associated with sci-fi. I recommend it to anyone who likes a good story.
