A gulity pleasure November 10, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I saw this film for the first time in the 80's on Cable and found it a bit cheesy. The writing was a bit stiff and the story was a slow moving train ride at times and didn't know where to go. It either wanted to be an overview of the potential dangers of investigative Journalism or a mellow drama about the California Healthclub social scene. It did neither of them well but what it did was take a snap shot at what was trendy about the decade we love to hate. I LOVE IT! Ms. Curtis is so good for this and even thought she is given horrible dialoge to utter, she is totaly believable as a "Arobic Guru". Buy it for her and her alone. Travolta ia just a folding chair as far as this film is concerned. He adds nothing to the mix other then offering a body for Jamie to emote to. The basic transfer is good and the price is right.
Where is Jermaine Jackson's music video? November 26, 2005 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
This DVD is a waste. They should've included Jermaine Jackson's music video Closest Thing To Perfect. I read somewhere else online that Jamie Lee Curtis was in the video. When they bring these movies on DVD, they need to include extras like the music videos off the soundtracks. I don't understand why some do and others don't. Some company executives just don't know what they're doing. Don't waste your money on this DVD with no extras.

2 Stars for Carly October 19, 2005 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Carly Simon's the only one worth watching on this DVD,but she's only in the film for 69 seconds, and her only line is "I read that Sh-t you wrote about me."and thats what this movie is
Ditto the last guy September 19, 2005 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I found and bought a tape of Shawn Phillips' Second Contribution as well. The movie Perfect was so-so, but the music was to die for. So, why would the studio execs re-release Perfect without the soundtrack? It's been so many years and I still crave it!!!!!
Excellent soundtrack if you can find it January 24, 2005 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I picked up the soundtrack on cassette tape after seeing this movie's first release. It was awesome and I listened to it all-the-time. Now of course, I can't find it anywhere. Every time our family stops at one of those ole-time truck-stops to get a burger or coffee, I always check out the old cassette bins. Last time, I found Shawn Philips Second Contribution ... not bad, but still not Perfect.
