Good book of survival November 11, 1998 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really like when Jamie and Awasin have to live off what they kill and they have to build a house. I don't like when they crash into the rock in the rapids that makes me think that they will die. I also like when they meet the two dogs Farley Mowat is the best author that i know i also have The Curse Of The Viking Grave he writes good books

An exciting novel of wilderness and survival.
A Romance with the Wilderness! May 10, 1997 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Farley Mowatt knows how to warm the young heart to the grand glory of the Canadian Arctic Wilderness. There is something wonderfully primal and romantic in this simple story of 2 boys survival adventure that no video game or modern day urban experience can compete with. It was a joy to read as a child, and it's great to see it back in print.
A good and Well written book! March 23, 1997 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Mr. Mowat has been very successful with this book and will keep that way for a long time to come. The book itself has alot to offer to children at schools and libraries. If someone asked me if it was a good novel to read, I would have to say yes
