NIV Study Bible is perfect for individual or group study September 15, 2008
This is a GREAT study bible. What I like best is the detailed introduction to each book - information about the author and date, the setting, the theological theme, and outline. It's great for a beginner or for a "veteran" bible reader.

My husband and I have used an NIV Study Bible for years, and we recently purchased this one for our son. The print is a little on the small side for Personal Size, but the black leather and gold edges are classically beautiful. The translation is one of the mostly widely used with helpful notes and illustrations throughout the book for deeper study and discussion. The red letter edition highlights Jesus' words. Our vendor had a very good price, so I don't think I could have done any better.
