short and ... March 21, 2008 My 3 yr old soon loves dolphons and orcas, so we have a few of these documentaries. I was very disappointed in the length of the movie (short) and that it's repetative. The titles to each 'chapter' of the movie (only 5 i think) were long. The cinematography is beautiful but too little of it! Music is very nice. Would I suggest it to someone? Probably not.
Love It! Very Relaxing and great footage! August 10, 2007 I bought this DVD as a gift for my 4 year old, as she's having a Dolphin themed party. She loves watching the Dolphins jumping and looking for food on the ocean floor. The footage itself is extremely clear, and the background music is relaxing. No lyrics, just melody-nice change to typical movies. My girls have watched this movie four times now since receiving it in the mail yesterday. It was also educational for them as we watched it together the first time, and they kept asking me what the dolphins were doing next, and what they were called. Each segment is about 5-8 minutes long, and the total movie lasts about 45 minutes. Short and sweet. And it also tells you between each segment what the names of the different types are, and where they typically live (what ocean). The first review on this DVD is what sold me to give it a try, and now I will be showing to the kids at my daughter's party! Great buy, impressed.
Dolphins and Orcas May 7, 2007 I loved watching this DVD and seeing the crew interact with both dolphins and orcas, as they are fascinating mammals to learn about and they did a great job on this film.
Nice footage from close-up August 23, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is one of those great videos you can play on repeat mode and treat the TV as an animated painting. There is no voice over but rather a pleasant new-age style audio bed accompanies the video.
The segments are frequently shot in slow motion which captures the light and water motion exquisitely.
If you are looking for a visual feast, you won't be disappointed. Recommended.
An amazing experience March 10, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had previously watched this footage on VHS, and I had already fallen in love with those images. Talbot shows a great sensitivity when capturing dolphins and orcas in their own habitat, and the result is a collection of amazingly beautiful images. I highly recommend this DVD for people who love Nature and sealife, but especially for those who need to take a break and relax. Beauty is always soothing...
