Description The third time's a charm for this innovative collection of ground-breaking films from Full Frame, North America's preeminent documentary film festival. With the help of The New York Times and a board that includes Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Demme, Ken Burns, and Barbara Kopple, Full Frame (fullframefest.org) showcases over 100 documentaries each year to audiences ready to lose themselves in real life. From the astonishingly personal to the hilariously funny, this latest assortment of films from as far as India and Australia invites you to experience some of the world's best in documentary shorts. THE GREAT CHEESESTEAK DEBATE by Scott Vosbury--A war wages on throughout the streets of Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love. Who sells the best Cheesesteak? The intense--but always comical--rhetoric between fans of rival eateries is chronicled here. (13 minutes). A THOUSAND WORDS by Melba L. Williams--Winner of the Camera Planet/Full Frame Jury Award for Best Short Film, A THOUSAND WORDS tells the personal story of a quiet war veteran and his children's attempts to understand him. (9 minutes). ROSALIE'S JOURNEY by Warwick Thornton--The life of an Aboriginal woman takes an incredible and fascinating turn when she is plucked from obscurity to star in filmmaker Charles Chauvel's acclaimed 1955 film Jedda. (23 minutes). TEXAS HOSPITALITY by Michael Pfaendtner--Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, this darkly off-beat film examines the final meal requests of a number of dead men (and women) walking from The Lone Star State. (4 minutes). JOURNEYS by Vinayan Kodoth--Richly detailed and poetic, JOURNEYS subtly and pointedly explores the universal issues of space and human relations in the over-populated urban setting of Bombay. (39 minutes). FOXHOLE by Franko Galoso--All is fair in love and war in this film about the paths of two decorated soldiers whose lives take an unexpected turn after meeting on the battlefields of Vietnam. (26 minutes). DVD Features: Filmmaker Biographies; Film Credits; Interactive Menus; Film Selection

Funny, Depressing, Entertaining & Engaging October 31, 2008 Various lengths, various topics. Death Row Inmates' Last Meal Requests? All typed, set to the oddest/funniest music... Very Dark and Funny. A Thousand Words, the short about two children trying to get to know their father, who doesn't talk much since he came back from Vietnam, and they didn't exist before he went. The Great Cheesesteak Debate - nothing short of cheesy fun. I haven't finished the other three... but I love this DVD!
